Seniors Came to Deer Creek Cafe' to Learn About Better Drug Managment

Ladue, small in population doesn't have the benefits of a local community center. Rick and Marcy Williams, co-owners of and next door want to do something about that.

They have organized a number of after-hour events for the cafe to enrich the community with drug-related and senior issues information.

Wednesday night, the cafe was packed end to end with seniors and care givers, there to learn more about drug management for the care of dementia, Alzheimers and other dreaded diseases.

Their partner with this first venture was the leadership team of the Jewish Community Center's Senior Day Care program.

Pharmacist Angie Kloeppel fielded a wide variety of questions about the mix and match of senior-aged drugs, the likes of Aricept, Namenda, and a wide variety of anti depressants.

Menefee handed out flyers and described the inner-workings of the adult day care center on the Staenberg Campus in Creve Coeur.

Judging by the size of the crowd and the depth of the questions, Ladue Pharmacy and Deer Creek Cafe' will be hosting many more of these sessions.
