  • John Kelly, St. Ann, Council District 2, Republican.
  • Karen Cloyd, Wildwood, Council District 7, Democrat.

The new members of the 14-member commission replace members who stepped down because they did not meet all eligibility requirements as outlined in the county charter. Among the requirements: commissioners cannot hold another public office and must live in the district they are appointed to represent.

With a judge’s ruling today, there is a vacancy for a Republican to represent District 4. An application and full description of the commission’s responsibilities can be found at https://boards.stlouisco.com/. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday.

The original members were selected from lists provided by the county’s Republican Central Committee and the Democratic Central Committee.

According to the county charter, the commission shall reapportion the council districts so that there is an equal number of residents in each district.

The commission’s next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today.
