St. Louis County Government: St. Louis County's Department Of Human Services Names Marc Peoples New Deputy Director

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (November 10, 2021) - St. Louis County’s Department of Human Resources has named Marc Peoples as the new deputy director. A native of St. Louis, Peoples brings with him 23 years of experience in the government sector.

“We are excited for Mr. Peoples to start and immediately contribute to the great work our department does. He brings years of experience ranging from criminal justice to social work,” said Howard Hayes, Director of Human Services. “He’s an incredible addition to our already unbelievably talented DHS team.”

Prior to joining the Department of Human Services, Peoples was the Systems Improvement Program Administrator at the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission. While also in Arizona, Peoples worked for the Department of Economic Security, Division of Aging and Adult Services, and served as the Community Services Program Administrator.

“I am excited to join a team dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and community,” said Peoples. “The work we do positively impacts the wellbeing of our community today and for future generations.”

Additionally, Peoples worked for the Missouri Department of Public Safety and served as the Director of the Crime Victim Services Unit. He has also served as an adjunct Criminal Justice Instructor for Lincoln University of Missouri.

Human Services is the social services arm of St. Louis County government, overseeing programs for the unhoused, veterans, older adults and youth. The department manages workforce development programs and the Weinman Shelter, a domestic violence program for women and their children.
