This community event will celebrate the completed plan with food and music while allowing residents to connect with small businesses and partner organizations.

“St. Louis County is committed to investing more in areas where disinvestment has become the norm,” County Executive Dr. Sam Page said. “I’m excited for the community to see their vision reflected in this master plan as we seek to create socially and economically healthy living environments in Spanish Lake.”

The Master Plan for the Spanish Lake Town Center grew out of the 2015 Bellefontaine Corridor study that offered recommendations to create a community gathering place for the 18,000 residents of unincorporated Spanish Lake.

The CDC hired a consultant team to develop the Town Center Master Plan, and then this past spring held workshops, community conversations, focus groups and surveys to gather feedback from the community to inform the master plan.

“This event will convene non-profit partners and institutions, small businesses, and community leaders to imagine, promote, and advocate for the possibilities of the development,” said Angela Pinex, Executive Director of the Spanish Lake CDC. "Our Steering Committee and Project Manager, Lorin Jackson worked diligently to turn our community's desires into an actionable plan and I'm in awe of what we've accomplished."

The CDC is a resident-driven partnership between St. Louis County, St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, Office of Community Development and Christian Hospital. The CDC aims to make Spanish Lake a proud, safe and well-connected community that is vibrant, diverse and inspires investment so all people can enjoy an equitable quality of life.
