St. Louis County Library Returns To In-Person Author Events With An Evening With Maestro Leonard Slatkin

After a year and a half of virtual programming, St. Louis County Library’s popular Author Series returns to in-person events–kicking-off with a special ticketed evening with renowned conductor, composer and author Leonard Slatkin. The event is presented in partnership with the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. Media sponsors include HEC Media, Classic 107.3 and Gazelle Magazine.

The event will take place at Library Headquarters (1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.) Monday, September 13, 7:00 p.m.

The Grammy Award-winning, Conductor Laureate and former Music Director for St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Leonard Slatkin will discuss the release of his third book, “Classical Crossroads: The Path Forward for Music in the 21st Century” with CEO and General Manager at Classic 107.3, John Clare. Guests will enjoy a live performance by Leonard Slatkin of Leroy Anderson - “The Typewriter” (arr. C. Woehr), a pre-recorded Slatkin-conducted performance of Charles Ives "Variations on America" (arr. McCall) and a live string quartet performance by Chamber Music Society of St. Louis.

TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets go on sale August 2 and can be purchased through Eventbrite.
INDIVIDUAL TICKET $45 (Admits ONE and includes one pre-signed copy of “Classical Crossroads”)

** There will not be a public book signing following the presentation.

For an additional donation, guests can mingle in-person with Mr. Slatkin at an exclusive pre-event cocktail reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m. held at Library Headquarters.

VIP TICKET - $150 (admits one to pre-event cocktail reception and 7:00 p.m. author talk/concert)
All proceeds from this event benefit the St. Louis County Library Foundation and the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. St. Louis County Library is mindful of all CDC guidelines and social distancing requirements.
