St. Louis County Library Selected As NASA's My Library Partner

St. Louis County Library will offer a series of STEAM programs starting in November as part of NASA @ My Library. SLCL is one of 60 libraries nation-wide to be selected to participate in the program. Selected libraries receive resources, training and support to increase and enhance STEAM learning opportunities for library patrons throughout the nation, including geographic areas and populations currently underserved in STEAM education.

NASA @ My Library is made possible through the support of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate as part of its Science Activation program. Learn more.

SLCL’s NASA @ My Library programming will include special story times, a virtual program about the James Webb Telescope, and take home bags that include a STEAM-based activity and a free book.

NASA @ My Library Schedule:

Monday, November 1, 6:30 p.m. and Monday, November 15, 10:00 a.m.
Virtual Program: Story Time In the Stars
Reach for the stars as we celebrate the James Webb Space Telescope Launch with a special story time.
Ages 3-6. Registration required. Participants will receive Zoom information via email immediately after registering.

Thursday, November 4, 7:00 p.m.
Virtual Program: The James Webb Space Telescope - What Comes after Hubble
Presented by St. Louis Astronomical Society
Learn about Hubble's primary successor, the Webb Space Telescope, and look at some of its planned targets, including star formations near the center of the Milky Way, extremely distant galaxies, and the detection of Earth-sized planets around other stars.
Teens and adults. Registration required. Participants will receive Zoom information via email immediately after registering.

Monday, November 15, 9:00 a.m.

Celebrate the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope! Visit your local branch for a bag with a book and space-related activity. While supplies last. Part of NASA@ My Library.
Recommended for children ages 6-9.
