62 Graduate From Brentwood High School

students heard mostly the wisdom of their peers in their graduation ceremony Friday.

Whitney Howard gave the opening remarks, Breyona Jackson and Christopher Reichert tag-teamed the senior class address, and Paige Anderson gave the closing remarks. They're all in the Brentwood class of 2012.

Jackson told her classmates to enjoy the success they've earned.

Reichert said Brentwood is more than a school, it's a family. He also said, "No one actually leaves Brentwood (pause for laughter and applause), because Brentwood goes with you."

Anderson said she'd known some of her classmates since kindergarten. She said Brentwood weaves a fabric that stretches over decades, and they're all part of it.

Anderson actually graduated twice Friday night.

Her grandfather, John Greenquist, a former teacher, was in a hospital bed and couldn't make it to the high school.

He had been living with his daughter, Marcy Anderson, and her family, and went into the hospital on Mothers Day.

Marcy said Greenquist had two goals late in life. One was to live past 80, which he had done, and the other was to see his granddaughter, Paige, graduate. So after the graduation and reception at the school, Paige and her mother and father went with Brentwood Superintendent of Schools Dr. Charles Penberthy to Greenquist, and performed the graduation for the second time that night.
