Carole Moody Gorman, Former Visitors Convention President, Dies

Carole A. Moody Gorman, an executive of the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC) )for 30 years and the founder of the St. Louis Attractions Association has died after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She is the husband of Thomas Gorman, an executive in the St. Louis advertising industry, mother to Tracy Gaffney, mother-in-law to Michael Gaffney and their grand children.

Mrs. Gorman had a tremendous impact on the tourism business in St. Louis and rose to the position of President of the CVC before retiring in 2006.

She was the driving force behind the development of the Attractions Association and a scholarship is given in her honor every year to a student in the hospitality industry.

The Gormans were residing in Brentwood at the time of her death.

The celebration of her life will take place today (Friday, August 10) at , 8900 Clayton Rd., in Richmond Heights from 4-7 p.m.

The funeral will be at Immacolata, August 11 at 11 a.m.
