Human Remains Found On Long Island: Police

Human remains were discovered in Brentwood on Monday, Suffolk County police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating human remains found in Brentwood on Monday, police said.

Third Precinct officers responded to a report of remains found in a sump at Fifth Avenue and Bancroft Road around 10:55 a.m. on Monday and determined the remains were human, police said.

The remains were transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the identity and cause of death, police said.
