Schlafly Sells Majority Stake to St. Louis Investors

Both co-founders will retain some shares, STLToday.com reports.

The company that makes Schlafly beer will sell a 60 percent majority to a group of local investors, Evan Benn of STLToday.com reports.

St. Louis Brewery will sell the majority to 13 local investors, pending government approval, Benn reports.

The move follows discussions in summer 2010 about a succession plan for co-founders Tom Schlafly and Dan Kopman. Both are reportedly retaining shares.
