Vandalism in Deer Creek Park: Juvenile in Custody
It was the fifth time the fence had been broken.
Chief Steve Kruse said previously it would be difficult to find a suspect responsible for breaking the concrete fence at because the surveillance cameras in the park are constantly moving, and patrolling officers would have to be there at the right time.
The officers' perseverance paid off: they were there at just the right time.
Maplewood Police Sgt. Matt Nighbor said officers on patrol observed new damage to the concrete fence on June 2.

When they canvassed the area, they found several witnesses who directed them to a juvenile suspect, who was still in the area.
The juvenile was taken into custody, and has been referred to the St. Louis County Family Court.
