Here's an update on the progress of the Mehlville School District's new service learning program called Project ENGAGE.
- MERS/Goodwill has teamed up with the Mehlville School District as part of Project Engage. Donations trailers will be set up throughout the district where community members can drop off gently used clothing, household items, furniture, computers and more. The first site is located at the St. John’s Building at 3107 Will Ave.
- Students at Blades Elementary recently hosted a Coin Carnival in which they donated coins for their admission to the event. The carnival featured games based on the hit TV show “Minute to Win It.” The students raised $743, which will help pay for postage to send packages to soldiers overseas.
- Third graders in Julie Durham’s class at Wohlwend Elementary studied functional writing and descriptive how-to directions and learned how to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Afterward, they used their knowledge to collect the ingredients and prepare the sandwiches, which they donated to Feed My People.
