Heat Contributing Factor in Reavis Barracks Water Main Break
Crews worked through the night to fix the damaged stretch of road in South County.
At approximately 4 p.m., Wednesday, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Reavis Barracks Road—between Happy Lane and Green Park— were shut down because of a water main break that caused the road to give in, according to a St. Louis County Police Department report.
St. Louis County water and and highway crews responded to the scene and were finishing work on the road as of 11 p.m., Wednesday. Â
FOX2 News reports that heat and water pressure were contributing factors to the water main break.
