Heat Contributing Factor in Reavis Barracks Water Main Break

At approximately 4 p.m., Wednesday, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Reavis Barracks Road—between Happy Lane and Green Park— were shut down because of a water main break that caused the road to give in, according to a St. Louis County Police Department report.

St. Louis County water and and highway crews responded to the scene and were finishing work on the road as of 11 p.m., Wednesday.  

FOX2 News reports that heat and water pressure were contributing factors to the water main break.
