Mehlville Fire Officials Promote Rich Link to Captain

District officials said Link is at the forefront of key decisions during fires.

Firefighter Rich Link is now a captain with the and will lead a station in the district's 52 square mile coverage area.

The Mehlville fire board voted Wednesday in a closed meeting to promote Link from Private to Captain.

Assistant Chief Dan La Fata used the terms "very experienced" and "highly motivated" when describing the firefighter.

"He has an extremely good grasp of tactics and has been at the helm of the last few bigger fires," La Fata said.

Link, who lives in Mehlville, has worked in the district for the last 14 years.
