Mehville T-Mobile Store Implements Extra Safety Measures After Robbery

On Monday, the St. Louis County Police Department released video surveillance photos of two masked men that robbed the T-Mobile store on S. Lindbergh at Union in Mehlville on Friday.

Although no new information has been released about the case, Patch stopped by the T-Mobile store and spoke with management about how the store was dealing in the aftermath of the robbery.

The manager at T-Mobile said he could not talk specifics about the case because it's still under investigation, nor could he discuss his employee involved in the incident.

But he did say the company has begun putting in place small changes to safety procedures that can make a big impact.

For instance, the company is looking into panic alert bracelets for staff so in the instance there is an invasion again, a button can be quickly pressed to notify police.

The manager also said closing shift employees will work in pairs at night rather than have one person close.

The company will also shorten its hours in the summer so it closes during daylight at 8 p.m.

He also said the 30 stolen smartphones will be useless to the robbers because they are registered products and have been reported stolen.

"They can't be used without being traced," he said. "Essentially it was a waste of time for them."
