Oakville Population Shrank Over the Past 10 Years
The 2010 headcount by the U.S. Census Bureau shows a slight decline in Oakville, mirroring that of St. Louis County at large.

The Oakville community shrank a bit over the past 10 years, according to the results of the latest headcount by the U.S. Census Bureau released today.
Oakville's population dropped by 1,296 people, or about 3 percent, the numbers released today show. The decennial census shows that 36,143 people lived in Oakville in 2010, compared with 37,439 in 2000.
St. Louis County's population dropped about 1.7 percent. Fewer than a million people now live in the county.Â

Although Missouri grew in population by 7 percent, it wasn't enough to stop the loss of a . The state will have eight members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013.
