Police Charge Man in Motel 6 Standoff

The man is charged with assault and property damage.

Friday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a man in connection with .

Zachary R. Clampitt, 23, is charged with one count of assault in the second degree on a police officer, property damage in the first and second degrees, resisting arrest and resisting a lawful stop.

Clampitt is from the 1000 block of Mulberry in Bismarck, MO and he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

Clampitt did not respond when officers came to the Motel 6 at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The St. Louis County Tactical Operations Unit was able to .

Police came to the Motel 6 to question Clampitt about an incident that occurred Saturday night.

A truck had caused damaged to a gate at the Southmoor Apartments on the 5100 block of Southmoor Hills Drive.

Police allege Clampitt rammed the police car after being stopped for the traffic violation and fled the scene. Three stolen guns were found in the truck, later discovered in a creek bed.
