Police Find Dead Woman on the Side of the Road in South St. Louis County

The St. Louis County Police Department discovered a dead woman on the side of the road in South St. Louis County on Tuesday morning, according to a police statement.

Police responded at approximately 6:30 a.m. to a call for an unresponsive person at the 200 block of Watchel Avenue in Lemay. Paramedics also responded shortly thereafter and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police later identified the victim as Charley Smalley, a 26-year-old woman.

St. Louis County police detectives are currently investigating the incident. An autopsy showed the victim had no injuries and the cause of the death is unknown at the time, although toxicology results are pending.
