Officers from the South County Precinct of the St. Louis County Police Department talked the woman down from jumping off a bridge.

Police talked down a woman threatening to jump from the I-255 Jefferson Barracks Bridge early Friday morning.

Witnesses called police to report a woman climbing over a concrete wall on the bridge to jump around 6:15 a.m. When two St. Louis County Police Department South County Precinct officers arrived, she said she was going to jump, police said.

Officers Kevin Helldoerfer and Tim Harrison talked to the woman for about 30 minutes, and she eventually walked back from the edge of the bridge. Police said the woman was suffering from a mental health problem.
