River City Casino Owner, Pinnacle, Selling Lumiere Place and Four Seasons St. Louis

Pinnacle plans to purchase Ameristar Casinos, and the Federal Trade Commission said owning three of the six casinos in the area would violate U.S. antitrust law.

Leaders at Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. are selling Lumiere Place Casino, Hotel Lumiere and the Four Seasons Hotel, along with its hotel development project in Lake Charles, La.

What's the reason? The company seeks to appease the Federal Trade Commission as it completes acquiring Ameristar Casinos Inc., according to a St. Louis Business Journal Report.

Pinnacle reached the agreement with the FTC, which had filed a complaint in May challenging  the River City Casino owner's $2.8 billion Ameristar purchase, saying it would violate U.S. antitrust law by reducing competition.
