Woman in AT&T Robbery Dumps Phones, Cools Off at Dentist Office

According to police, the robbers displayed a gun and tied up two store employees inside the store. Details are emerging of how the crime fell apart.

June 27 Update

A woman the St. Louis County Police Department said has been arrested in connection with the robbery of an AT&T store in the Mehlville area stopped inside a dentist office to cool down after the robbery and was subsequently arrested, according to police. 

Two men are still on the lose and considered armed and dangerous.

The AT&T store at 7345 South Lindbergh Boulevard was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday at about 9:50 a.m. Police said two male robbers tied up two store workers, stole merchandise and left the area in a car with a woman.

Patch reported robbery used in the crime was spotted the same day in Illinois.

Master Sergeant Craig Campbell of the Illinois State Police said a trooper tried to stop the vehicle at about 10:15 a.m., at a McDonald's on Route 157 at Interstate 55. The two men jumped out and ran. The woman drove off. 

According to police, a little more than 1 hour later, a person called police and reported seeing someone dump two bags from a vehicle near West Mill Creek and South Liberty roads. 

Police found the bags, which contained 40 to 50 cellphones, latex gloves, zip ties and masks near a wooded area.

The woman soon after walked into a dentist's office near Troy, Ill. Police said she told staff she needed to cool off. Staff was skeptical and the police were called, and arrested the woman.

June 26 2:50 p.m. Update

Shortly after information was released to neighboring departments relative to a Wednesday morning robbery below near in the Mehlville area, Illinois State Police made a traffic stop off of Highway 55 in Illinois of a vehicle that matched the description given. 

During that stop a woman who is believed to be involved in the morning robbery was taken into custody, according to a St. Louis County Police Department statement. Two men fled the vehicle during the traffic stop and are still at large. 

Police said numerous cell phones and other items related to the morning robbery were recovered in the vehicle. 

The subjects at large are believed to be armed and dangerous. The robbers displayed a gun and tied up two store employees inside the store, located in the 7300 block of S. Lindbergh before taking what they wanted and leaving.

No other information is available at this time relative to this incident.

Police are looking for three suspects who held up an AT&T store in the Mehlville area around 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday. 

According to police, the robbers displayed a gun and tied up two store employees inside the store, located in the 7300 block of S. Lindbergh.

Authorities said one of the suspects displayed a handgun before the suspects fled out of the south exit of the store. 

Police did not have information on what was taken, but the suspects left the scene in a large beige or brown-colored vehicle. It was later found parked in an alley near Lemay Ferry.

Police said more information would be released if and when arrests were made.
