St. Louis County Prescription Drug Take-Back Underway

The St. Louis County Police Department announced the start of the prescription drug take-back program on Friday.

According to a news release issued by St. Louis County Police, Missouri P2D2, a non-nonprofit organization dedicated to safe and convenient prescription drug disposal, launched the take-back.

Residents can drop off drugs, no questions asked, at any of the below locations, including the South County Precinct.

The collection boxes are located at:

• St. Louis County Police Dept., South County Precinct, 3031 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO  63125
• St. Louis County Police Dept., North County Precinct, 11815 Benham Road, St. Louis, MO  63138.
• St. Louis County Police Dept., Affton Southwest Precinct, 9928 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO  63123.
• St. Louis County Police Dept., West County Precinct,  232 Vance Road, St. Louis, MO  63088

“Convenient and safe disposal of unneeded medicines keeps drugs off the street and out of our rivers,” said St. Louis County Police Captain Kenneth Williams, the president of Missouri P2D2. “The new program gives families a safe way to get unused drugs out of household medicine cabinets – reducing the risks of teenagers experimenting with drugs and young children accidentally poisoned. Proper disposal is also an environmentally-friendly solution that protects our rivers.
