Two District Schools Partner to Stop Bullying
Washington Middle School and Trautwein Elementary School partnered for an anti-bullying program.
Students led by example in an anti-bullying program between and schools.
Five students from the middle school taught how to resolve bullying situations to fourth and fifth-graders at Trautwein May 9. C.J. Bender, Matt Davenport, Molly Gibbs, Kristin Haid and Adam Ryffel shared statistics and spoke about the increase of cyberbullying.
The two schools have been collaborating throughout the year on service-learning and character education.

“We wanted to ramp up the connection between our schools this year,” said Julie Kurz in a district release. Kurz is an English Language Learner teacher and Trautwein Character Education co-chair. “This anti-bullying program is just one more way for us to educate our students and work to eliminate bullying at Trautwein.”
