Update: O'Fallon Home Destroyed by Fire Tuesday

A home on Castlebrook Drive was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.

A fire destroyed a home at 660 Castlebrook Drive early Tuesday morning. 

Scott Avery, public information officer for the , said the fire was reported around 9:43 a.m. He said the blaze caused extensive damage and the home is a total loss.

Nearly 23 firefighters from O'Fallon, Central County Fire and Rescue and Cottleville arrived on the scene. Avery said it took an hour and 10 minutes to extinguish the flames. 

Fire officials say they do not know the cause of the fire at this time. Around noon, firefighters worked to extinguish the hot spots, so they could begin their investigation. Fire fighters left the scene around 1:30 p.m.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire. Avery said the children were at school and their parents at work. Avery reports no injuries.
