FZN International Thespians score high marks at state conference!
Troupe 5140 receives state-wide recognition.
On January 8-11, the Fort Zumwalt North International Thespian Troupe #5140 braved the snow and attended the Missouri State Conference at Union Station in St. Louis, MO. The troupe got to participate in workshops presented by theatre professionals from around the country, see productions presented by local companies and state high schools, and also got to compete in several state events. Here is a list of North's contributions and accolades:
- Troupe 5140 was once again named an Honor Troupe because of outstanding participation at the local and state levels in theatrical and community service events.
- Troupe 5140 donated script bundles and tshirts for the student officer silent auction to raise money for various theatre charities.
- Troupe Director Mrs. Theresa Nigus received the Judith Rethwisch Outstanding Theatre Educator of the Year Award.
- Assistant Principal Mr. Casey Olearnick received the Missouri State Administrator of the Year Award.
- Sammi Wurst excelled as the costumer for the All State Show, Sweet Charity, which was presented for over 2000 conference delegates.
- Scholarship applicants Rehanna Piant, Riley Rebore and Abby Sides received several college callbacks.
- Grace Pointer and AJ Burch participated in the Tech Design competition in the Costume Design Category.
- AJ Burch participated in the Monologue category of the Thespys competition.
- Riley Rebore auditioned for and was chosen as a performer in MusicalWorks.
- Our Improv Intensive team of Abby Sides, Emma Booth, Xavier Monnig, Rehanna Piant and Ella Shylanski participated in two days of Improv challenges and received a Superior rating.
- Riley Snow was named the State Champion in the Light Hang and Focus Event of the Tech Challenge Event.
- Sammi Wurst took Fourth Place in the Sew a Button Event of Tech Challenge.
- The Tech Challenge Team of Sammi Wurst, Riley Snow, Grace Pointer and Kaitlyn Pavia took Second Place in Cable Coiling, and also took Third Place Overall in the State in the Tech Challenge Event!
- In the Thespys Competition:
- Riley Rebore received an Excellent Rating in Solo Musical.
- Xavier Monnig and Julia Pirondi received an Excellent Rating in Duet Acting.
- Cody Miller, Abby Sides, McGregor Pickett, Emma Booth, Riley Snow, Ella Shylanski and Abby Hixenbaugh received a Superior Rating in Group Acting.
- Evan Nigus and Rehanna Piant received a Superior Rating in Duet Musical.
- Grace Pointer received a Superior Rating in Short Film.
- Sammi Wurst received a Superior Rating in Costume Design and got a perfect score.
- Azalyn Nanney received a Superior Rating in Solo Musical Theatre Dance and got a perfect score.
- Riley Snow was named a Student State Officer and will help plan next year’s conference.
