FZN Panther Players to present "Fools."

The annual winter play runs February 8th - 10th.

On February 8th, 9th and 10th, the FZN Panther Players will present Neil Simon’s Fools.

Set in a remote Ukrainian village of Kulyenchikov, “a long time ago”, Fools follows the journey of Leon Tolchinsky (Geoffrey Alva), a young and talented schoolteacher who answers an ad placed by Dr. Zubritsky (Xavier Monnig) and his wife Lenya (Marshae Hogue), who are looking for someone to teach their young daughter, Sophia (Emma Booth).

Leon soon learns that the town of Kulyenchikov has been cursed with stupidity for the last 200 years. Yencha the vendor (Nataleigh Daleen) sells flowers instead of fish, Snetsky the shepherd (McGregor Pickett) is always losing his sheep, Slovitch the butcher (Julia Pirondi) sweeps dirt into the shop, and Mishkin the postman (Riley Rebore) keeps all the mail.

The only way to break the curse is to educate Sophia, or allow her to marry the descendent of the person who cursed the town, Count Gregor Yousekevitch (Evan Nigus). Leon vows to do whatever it takes to teach her. But he only has 24 hours to break it before he, too, falls victim to the curse. Will Leon break the curse? Will the Magistrate (Cody Miller) ever get to perform a wedding? Find out what happens on February 8th, 9th or 10th at the FZN auditorium. Performances begin at 7pm on all nights. Tickets will be available at the door for $7.

Prior to the show on February 8th North High's student-council will host a senior citizen dinner. Each senior that attends will receive one ticket to the show that evening. Seats to the dinner are limited to 100 people. For reservations contact Sheryl Toews in the FZN Activities Office at (636) 542 - 7022. Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm.
