FZN "Swimcats" pile up the hardware!

The FZN Boys Swim & Dive team brings homes two plaques in a week.

The FZN boys swim & dive team recently competed in the FZN "Roger Eastman" Invitational, where the team finished in 2nd place our of 12 teams. The Panthers, or "Swimcats," followed that up the performance with a 2nd place finish at the FZE "Lion" relays. By virtue of their 2nd place performances at each event, the program added to the FZN trophy case after being awarded the two second place plaques.

Results from the FZN Invitational:

Both of our divers medaled with Luke Burgard earning Silver and Jacob Ventimiglia earning Bronze. The JV 200 Medley Relay team of Boyle, Brinker, Orf and Storm took first place, earning a Gold medal. The varsity 200 Medley team of Wright, VanWave, Preiser, and Hinkle dropped more time and improved their State consideration time and earned Bronze. Alex Preiser flew in the 100 Butterfly and not only set a new PR but earned a State Consideration time and took home a Bronze medal. Senior Alex Wright picked up a Bronze medal in the 100 Freestyle and a Bronze medal in the 100 Backstroke. The JV 200 Freestyle Relay team of Boyle, Swinney, Pickett, and Storm earned Bronze medals and the Varsity 200 Freestyle team of Wright, VanWave, Preiser, and Hinkle earned Silver medals. In the JV 400 Freestyle Relay the team of Storm, Boyle, Mergenthaler, and Orf, earned Gold to finish up the meet. The boys had a great day in the pool and many of the boys set new PRs and proved to themselves that they can do it.
