Panthers win big over the Lions!

FZN football improves to 2 - 1 on the season.

The FZN football team won their second consecutive game last Friday as the Panthers rolled to a 49 – 3 victory over Fort Zumwalt East. The Panthers now stand a 2 – 1 on the season, with a 2 – 0 mark in conference play. Making his debut for the Panthers last Friday was freshmen Jayden Burlson, who accounted for 114 yards of offense while scoring 3 touchdowns. Troy Emge, staring his first game at quarterback, rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 77 yards and a score. Chaun Robinson, also making his first start, rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown. Jaydin Noel and Chase Ostmann also scored for the Panthers.

Defensively the Panthers were led by Drew Riley, who recorded 6 solo tackles, 3 assists, with one quarterback sack. Xavier Jackson, Austin Bauer, and Tommy Hembrock also stood out for the Panther defense. Cason Vollmer and Kellen Watson recovered fumbles against the Lions. The stingy Panther defense has not allowed a touchdown in their last 10 quarters of play.

This Friday, the Panthers travel to Washington for a GAC Central match-up. Kickoff as Washington is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
