All payments must be postmarked by December 31, 2025 to avoid penalties, and seniors using the new tax freeze should remember it caps increases but doesnβt erase what they owe.

2. St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Reopens Historic Powell Hall (globaltravelerusa.com) β St. Louis music lovers can now return to a fully renovated Powell Hall at the new Jack C. Taylor Music Center, following a $140 million, two-year overhaul. The St. Louis Symphony Orchestraβs 146th season will spotlight major classical works, expanded education programs, and more accessible, comfortable spaces for audiences, students, and visiting artists in the Grand Center Arts District.

Teen receives first combined heart-kidney transplant in Missouri (firstalert4.com) β A 17-year-old patient just became the first person in Missouri to receive a combined heart-kidney transplant at St. Louis Childrenβs Hospital, marking a major medical milestone for the city. Coordinated by Washington University and Childrenβs Hospital teams, the rare procedure used organs from a single donor and has allowed her to return home, school, and time with friends.

St. Louis animal shelter seeks help as heating system fails during cold weather (firstalert4.com) β St. Louisβ city-contracted animal shelter CARE STL is scrambling after one of its main heating units failed, leaving dogs in a chilly 8,500-square-foot building just as colder weather moves in. Staff are urgently seeking foster homes and donations so about 30 remaining dogs can stay warm and safe while the shelter works toward repairs and a long-term move to a better facility.
