Pruitt to do some heavy lifting for Lindenwood!

FZN Senior Shane Pruitt recently signed with Lindenwood University to compete as a member of their Olympic Weight-Lifting team. Pruitt competed in multiple sports at FZN, most notably as a member of the FZN football team where he started for three seasons. A two-way player on the gridiron for the Panthers, Pruitt earned “All-Conference” status as a linebacker, while helping the Panthers win their 8th district title in the past 10 years. In addition to his prowess on the football field, Pruitt has earned varsity letters in both wrestling and track & field. Outside of athletics, Pruitt achieved notoriety as a member of FZN’s choir where he achieved “All-State” recognition.

A well-rounded athlete, Pruitt began competing in Olympic weight-lifting during his middle school years, although his competitive weight lifting was temporality paused during the last three years as he focused on his high school athletic career. Pruitt has a renewed vigor for the sport of weight lifting and plans to focus his athletic efforts full-time into training and competing in the sport.

Pruitt felt Lindenwood’s location and past success in the sport, Lindenwood has claimed three national collegiate championships, made it a good choice for him. An honor-roll student at FZN, Pruitt plans on studying data analytics at Lindenwood.
