City OKs $31,000 for Purchase of New Fire Dept. Vehicle
The new SUV will replace a 2007 Chevy Impala as the department's command vehicle.

Olivette city council members OK'ed the purchase of a new vehicle as a command vehicle for the city's fire department, replacing a 2007 Chevy Impala with more than 135,000 miles on it.
The department will spend $31,000 on the new Chevy Tahoe.
"The Impala, once we receive the Tahoe and have it 'response ready,' will be removed from the fire department fleet," said Fire Chief John V. Bailot. "The vehicle is being purchased under 'State of Missouri Contract pricing' for police and fire service at a greatly reduced cost."
