Olivette Council to Review Economic Development Marketing Brochure

Discussion items include membership in the Olivette-Creve Coeur Chamber; personnel policies and EDC marketing update.

The City of Olivette will have their monthly work session tonight 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall.

Topics on the agenda are:

  • EDC (Economic Development Commission) update
  • Creve Coeur Olivette Chamber of Commerce membership
  • Review of proposed updated personnel policy for the City of Olivette

Mike McDowell, city manager said the council will be reviewing the 80 page report for personnel policies of city employees. "There are several suggested revisions, and we will be looking at all areas of work related policies," said McDowell.

Meanwhile as far as the EDC update is concerned, Council Member Missy Waldman speculates the members of the committee might talk about their newly-proposed marketing brochure. “I know they are working on some kind of brochure, and maybe they will be sharing their preliminary format with us?” said Waldman.

The other big item is the city dropping its membership to the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce.

At the last work session meeting in December, the city council voted 3-2 to drop its membership in the chamber of commerce. 

“I am hopeful chamber personnel and our city manager got together to talk about getting back together. We definitely need more dialogue on this,” said Waldman.
