Got Drugs? Police Plan 'No Questions Asked' Rx Drop-Off Saturday

Law enforcement agencies around the country and here in Creve Coeur are offering to help with spring-cleaning this weekend.

Saturday, the Olivette Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are hosting a prescription drug take-back day.

According to a DEA press release promoting the event:

Americans participating in DEA’s four previous Take-Back Days turned in nearly 1.6 million pounds—almost 774 tons—of prescription drugs, most recently at almost 5,700 sites operated by nearly 4,300 of the DEA’s local law enforcement partners. DEA’s last event collected more than double the pills as their first event two years ago, with almost 50% more participating agencies and sites this past April than in September of 2010.

Anyone wishing to dispose of old or unwanted prescription medication can drop it off in the rear parking lot at the Olivette Municipal Building, located at 9473 Olive Blvd., Olivette, MO 63132 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The event is completely anonymous and police said they’re taking a “no questions asked” approach.
