Olivette Burglary Leads to Police Pursuit
Thieves hit a business next door to the Olivette Police Department in this latest smash-and-grab burglary.

According to FOX 2 News,Β Olivette police are looking for a silver Lexus SUV after the latest smash-and-grab burglary.

Thieves reportedly hit the Timekeepers Jewelry and Clock Shop on Olive Boulevard, right next door to the Olivette Police Department, around 4:50 a.m. Monday.
FOX 2 reports an officer was in his car in the department parking lot when heΒ heard the storeβs burglar alarm sound andΒ drove to the store to find the glass front door smashed out.

The officer then spotted aΒ Lexus speeding off the parking lot and heΒ chased the SUV onto northbound Interstate-170, but speeds got so high that the officer abandoned the chase, FOX 2 reports.
Police also found aΒ red Dodge Ram pickup truck in the parking lot withΒ heavy damage to the rear of the vehicle. That car is now said to have been stolen five days ago from St. Louis and has been impounded as evidence.
