Olivette: Under New Management

Change in city leadership. Missy Waldman selected mayor by her peers. Arthur Merdinian retires from the council.

The City of Olivette City Council underwent some changes at its regular meeting this month. Missy Waldman was voted in as mayor by the other four council members, and Arthur Merdinian stepped down after serving a three year term as council member, which included his last as mayor.

Pablo Flinn was selected as Mayor Pro-Tem of the city.

Ruth Springer, who previously served on the council and as mayor returned to the five-member council. Springer and Waldman won uncontested races in April.

The council members agreed to serve as liasons on various boards. Springer and council member Jean Antoine will be co-representatives to PCDC, the Planning and Community Design Commission which makes many recommendations and decisions concerning development for the city.
