Police Cracking Down on Drunk Drivers Over Labor Day Weekend

Arrange that designated driver--police in St. Louis, St. Charles and Jefferson counties will be conducting DUI checkpoints through Sept. 2.

St. Louis-area and state law enforcement agencies will be out in full force over the Labor Day weekend to keep impaired drivers off the roads.

The following area police departments have announced drunk driving checkpoints:

Officers will write tickets or make arrestsΒ for otherΒ violations, including not wearing a seatbelt and driving with a revoked license.Β Area police will also beΒ cracking down on motorcycle stunts, with theΒ Streetfighterz Ride of the Century 2013 this Labor Day weekend, according toΒ St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol recommends drivers call andΒ reportΒ motorists they suspect are driving intoxicatedΒ by dialing 800-525-5555 or *55 from a cell phone.
