Say Goodbye to the Olivette Caboose
The 15-ton red Wabash Railroad caboose hit the road at 11:14 a.m. this morning, headed to Kirkwood and the Museum of Transportation.
At exactly 11:14 a.m. this morning, the 15-ton Wabash caboose that resided in the backyard of Vance Lischer, Jr. and Dorothy Beaman made tracks for the Transportation Museum on the western edge of Kirkwood.
As reporters stood on the ground, and a chopper in the air, the caboose was escorted to the city limits by the Olivette Police.
Select Transport, Inc. of Pacific spent two days of packing up and moving out. The train was squeezed too close to a fire hydrant so a stand by crane lifted the back end of the flat bed truck to make the turn onto Dielman Road.
