Take the Plunge With Your Pooch at Area Puppy Pool Parties
Patch is rounding up local dog swim events around the St. Louis area.

It's time for the puppies to take over the poolsΒ Now that summer is winding down and the people are exiting area pools, local dogs get their chance to dive in.Β
Dogs and their owners can hit the water at area puppy pool parties in St. Louis andΒ St. Charles Counties. Here's a look at which pools are hosting parties.

Monday, Sept. 2
- Maryland Heights βΒ Aquaport willΒ host itsΒ annualΒ Dog Day of Summer. The gates will open atΒ 6:15 p.m.Β toΒ well-mannered dogs and their guardiansΒ for a fun evening of splashing aroundΒ the pool. Dogs will have access to allΒ of the parkβs amenities except for theΒ slides, though the kiddie pool is reservedΒ for small dogs only.Β Admission for one dog and one humanΒ companion is $10. Each additional human is $3 and each additional dog is $5;Β no more than two dogs are allowed perΒ human. All dogsΒ are required to wear an ID tag andΒ have a current Dogport tag or currentΒ vaccination records (including rabiesΒ and distemper). To avoid a long line, pre-register your dog at theΒ Maryland Heights Centre by bringingΒ in vaccination records between Aug. 27Β andΒ Sept. 1.Β

- Chesterfield βΒ Chesterfield Family Aquatic CenterΒ has its dog swim onΒ Sept. 3 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.Β Cost is $7 per dog, $3 per person, with a two-dog limit. No puppies under 4 months. Visitors must have a copy of the record of their pets' most recent vaccinations.
- CrestwoodΒ βΒ The End of Summer Doggie Dive will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. for small dogs, and 7-8 p.m. for medium and large dogs at Whitecliff Aquatic Center. Humans will not be allowed in the pool. Cost is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required by Aug. 31.
- Wentzville βΒ The Pooch Plunge will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at Progress Park Pool. Pre-registration is required. ClickΒ hereΒ for more details.
- Kirkwood βΒ Dog pool parties will be hosted at the KirkwoodΒ Recreation Station from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 3. To participate in the dog pool parties, current shot records must be provided. The cost for the dog pool parties is $10.
- BallwinΒ βΒ The North Pointe Aquatic Center's Fifth Annual Dog Swim will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at North Pointe Aquatic. The event is $10 per dog and free for humans. To register online,Β click here.
- Fenton βΒ The FentonΒ Doggy Dunk will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Riverchase. Proof of inoculations must be brought to the gate. Dog owners are responsible for their petβs actions. A portion of the proceeds will be given to the Bark Park @ Unger a not-for-profit organization seeking to develop a dog friendly facility in Unger Park. The cost is $10 for one dog and one supervisor, with a $7 charge forΒ each additional dog with a maximum of two dogs per adult.
Thursday, Sept. 5
- Kirkwood βΒ Dog pool parties will be hosted at the KirkwoodΒ Recreation Station from 6-8 p.m.Β Sept. 5. To participate in the dog pool parties, current shot records must be provided. The cost for the dog pool parties is $10.
- Sunset HillsΒ β Dog Splash will take place at the city pool, 6-8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Gateway Pet Guardians. Cost is $10 per dog with a limit of two dogs.
- Maplewood βΒ TheΒ Maplewood Dog Park is holding its 9th Annual Dog Swim at the Maplewood Family Aquatic Center. The swim is for Greater St. Louis area dogs more than four months of age. Rabies vaccination records are required for each dog to participate and must be presented at the front desk. No children under 13 allowed. No more than two dogs per person. Proceeds support the Maplewood Dog Park. The event runs from 4-8 p.m.Β
Saturday, Sept. 7
- University City βΒ On Saturday, Sept. 7,Β theΒ University City Dog Park volunteersΒ will host a Puppy Pool Party at University Cityβs Heman Park Pool. The party will run from 12-4 p.m.
- Manchester βΒ The Doggie Paddle Party will be held during Manchester Homecoming weekend. Proceeds benefit a local charity and the Homecoming Committee. Dogs can paddle, swim, run and play at their leisure at the Manchester Aquatic Center. Owners must provideΒ complete vaccination recordsΒ and pick up after their pets.Β Admission isΒ $11 forΒ dog and owner (limit 2 dogs) and $3 for each additional person. The pool party runs from 1-4 p.m. at Β the Aquatic Center in Schroeder Park.
- Maplewood βΒ TheΒ Maplewood Dog Park is holding its 9th Annual Dog Swim at the Maplewood Family Aquatic Center. The swim is for Greater St. Louis area dogs more than four months of age.
