Lindenwood Collects Non-Perishible Food Items at Football Game

Lindenwood University will accept donations of non-perishable food items at the Lions’ football home opener against Graceland University at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium. All donated items will benefit St. Louis Area Foodbank.

The collection marks the beginning of the University’s participation in the 2011 United Way of Greater St. Louis campaign. The local organization annually assists nearly 200 health and human service agencies in 16 counties in Missouri and Illinois.

In addition to the collection of food items, activities are planned in commemoration of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States. A moment of silence will take place and special recognition will be given to fire, police, military, and emergency medical personnel in attendance.
