Panel Discussion on Teen Mental Health Crisis Intervention Planned

To boost awareness and help community members understand the resources available for teen crisis intervention, the Community Council will host a panel of experts at an luncheon. The luncheon, which will be held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 2 at Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters, will feature a discussion on youth crisis intervention
and mental health.

The forum will be moderated by Bruce Sowatsky, Executive Director of the Community and Children’s Resource Board of St. Charles County and will feature discussion about
the upcoming launch of a new help line for youth, the role of crisis intervention teams, the scope of community resources for families and individuals and the role of area
nonprofit agencies in providing crisis intervention services.

Representatives from Youth in Need, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Crider Health Center and Behavioral Health Response will participate in the forum.

The network luncheon series consists of monthly luncheons designed to connect community partners and discuss a variety of important issues facing the St. Charles County area.

The luncheons are held the first Thursday of each month, with the exception of June through August.
