St. Charles County Parks Volunteers to Plant Trees, Install Fences

Dozens of community volunteers will work in St. Charles County Parks from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday as part of “Serve Day 2011,” a community service day spearheaded by Calvary Church members in the greater St. Louis area.

Volunteers will plant trees in Broemmelsiek Park, 1615 Schwede Rd., in Wentzville; plant trees in Quail Ridge Park, 5501 Quail Ridge Parkway, in Wentzville; and install cedar fencing at Towne Park, the Parks Department’s newest development, off of Highway 61 near Wentzville.

Volunteers assisting in St. Charles County Parks should bring work gloves, eye protection, sturdy shoes or boots and water. They will work with shovels, rakes, hand tools, drills, mulch, pitch forks, wheel barrels, shovels, and pick axes throughout the morning.
