Daily Dose: St. Louis Bread Company Hands Out Free Coffee
Plus, links to coverage of Rick Santorum's stop in St. Charles County.

Plan to swing by a on Wednesday. The company is launching a new program "Warm up Wednesdays" and will give away free coffee to everyone who visits a restaurant Feb. 1.
The company will also give away free soup to area businesses, community groups, construction site workers and volunteers throughout February.
Community members are asked to nominate someone who deserves free soup via Twitter and Facebook (tweet @panerabread.com using #warmupwednesday or write on Bread Co.’s Facebook wall). Bread Co. will then use the recommendations and warm up selected businesses each Wednesday of the month.

Also, on the final Wednesday (Feb. 29), Bread Co. is asking customers to warm up the entire city of St. Louis. Customers are asked to bring in three non-perishable food items that day for a free bowl of soup. The donated food items will go to Operation Food Search.

- St. Louis Post-Dispatch has a story that looks at the impact that a lower eturn on investments has had for school districts. In the Francis Howell School District the interest revenue has declined from $2.2 million in fiscal year 2008 to $157,855 in fiscal year 2011, according to the article.
- Lee Enterprises, the company that owns both the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and St. Charles Suburban Journals, exited bankruptcy but will have to pay higher interest rates on its $1 billion in long-term debt. Read more on Bloomberg.com.
- St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann was among the attendees at a the Regional Chamber and Growth Association annual meeting at the Chase Park Plaza, according to an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
