Fashion Bug Prepares for Closure

Fashion Bug in St. Charles is advertising major sales as it prepares to close by the end of the month. 

Signs posted outside the store boasted 80 percent off. 

An employee who answered the phone Monday night said she was unsure whether the shop would be open next week or of the closing date. 

The 600 Fashion Bug shops across the country are slated to close by early 2013 after the parent company was acquired earlier this year, according to a story in the Pittsburgh Business Times. 

The Fashion Bug in St. Charles is among four retail shops adjacent to Walmart which will be demolished to make way for Walmart's expansion into a Supercenter.

Construction on the Walmart expansion is expected to begin this summer.
