Handprint Leads Officers to St. Charles Burglars, Police Say
St. Charles Police said Tyler Tingley and Stephen Sherwood climbed through an unlocked window in the garage to enter the house.
Two St. Charles men have been charged with burglarizing a home on June 17. St. Charles Police said the two men climbed through an unlocked window in an attached garage in the 3600 block of Runnymede Drive.
Tyler Ray Tingley, 25, of the 100 block of Cole Boulevard, and Stephen David Sherwood, 23, of the 3600 block of Salem Street, were charged Sunday with second-degree burglary.
Police said Tingley searched through a car in the garage and Sherwood entered the living area and stole an Apple iPad mini and $95. Police identified Tingley by a handprint left on the vehicle, according to a court document.

Tingley and Sherwood are being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $20,000 each.
