Police Say Man Told Wife He Would Shoot Her If She Walked Out the Door

A man was charged July 23 with threatening to kill his wife while she had an order of protection against him.

William Grant Gregory, 28, of Imperial, faces a charge of violating a protection order.

said he called his wife, who lives in St. Charles, and left threatening messages, including saying he would assault her with a baseball bat. Gregory also said, “When you walk out your (expletive) door tomorrow, I’m shooting you,” according to the report.

The woman recorded parts of his message. She told police that Gregory put her in the hospital in 2008, and she still suffers long-term affects of a concussion from that incident.
