We'll be at the city council meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. During tonight's meeting the city council is scheduled to consider:

  • a bill that would require the director of finance, assistant director of finance, accounting manager and any administrative employee who handles money to take
  • a bill that would require retirees who retired before Jan. 1, 2011 to .
  • a bill that would allow tattoo establishment in areas zoned as C2 business districts, but the business would have to be at least 300 feet from residential districts. Residents have spoken out against the proposal at each city council meeting during which it's been discussed. See a map of the city's business districts here
  • amending the city's zoning code to increase the maximum height of buildings constructed on a campus of higher learning in the O-I Office Institution District to 10 stories or 140 feet. Right now, Lindenwood University has the only campus of higher learning and can only build buildings that have a maximum height of 2 1/2 stories or 35 feet.

Keep in mind, we're still looking for nominations for your favorite St. Charles eateries that have closed. I'm going to toss in Wiliker's - an old favorite of mine and a former employer! What are your favorites that you miss?
