Police: Man Who Hit Himself Claimed He Was Beat Up
The following information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Stealing
- Three rocking chairs, valued at $249, were stolen from the front of Cracker Barrel on March 12.
- A victim had items stolen from his open garage at Santa Ynez Court including golf clubs and a paintball gun. Also taken was a basketball hoop which was at the end of his driveway. Theft occurred during the day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The items were valued at $1,700.
- A purse, containing a black pen, a Nikon camera, a cell phone and legal drugs worth a total of $440, was stolen in the 3700 block of Burr Street.
- A wallet containing credits cards was stolen (pick pocket) near the 2000 block of Zumbehl from victim by an unidentified male. The credit cards were fraudulently used at local department stores.
Possession of Controlled Substance Marijuana
- A subject was found in possession of marijuana at North Main Street on March 14.
- A traffic stop at North 3rd Street and Barthel on March 15 resulted in driver being arrested for possession of marijuana and driving while suspended.

- A resident entered a condemned home at Boones Lick Road on March 15 that belonged to her.
Making False Police Report
- A subject contacted the police department on March 15 reporting that he had been assaulted by two different subjects. All witnesses to the events agreed that the caller was never assaulted by anyone, but continually hit himself. Subject arrested for making a false report to law enforcement.

- A suspect yelled at victim that he was going to kill him then left—the victim has had problems with suspect in past, but does not know his name or where he lives. The victim believes that suspect may be a juvenile. The suspect was down the street away from the victim when he yelled the threat, but an area canvass met with negative results.
