Man Threatened to Throw Girlfriend Down Stairs, Then Locked Her in the Basement, Deputy Says

A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy reported the assaults were part of a 12-year abusive relationship.

A St. Charles County man faces criminal charges for assaulting his girlfriend on two consecutive days.

Christerpher Lee Moore, 29, of the 2800 block of South River Road south of St. Charles, was charged Thursday with two counts of third-degree domestic assault.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Moore grabbed his girlfriend at the top of some stairs on March 2 and jerked her as if he were going to throw her down the stairs. The deputy said Moore said should end her life.

He then locked her in the basement, knowing it would cause her to have a panic attack, according to the report.

The deputy reported that on March 3, Moore struck her and pinned her to the kitchen wall. He told her he would throw her across a table and hurt her so she wouldn’t get up.

The woman called police because he told her that if she were there when he got home from work, “things were going to be bad.” A deputy reported the assaults stemmed from a 12-year abusive relationship.

Moore is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $10,000, and he is to have no contact with the victim.
