Police Reports: Air Conditioners Stolen, Mailboxes Damaged

St. Charles Police Reports are provided by St. Charles Police Department. A charge does not indicate a conviction.

Air conditioning units were stolen from two homes in St. Charles between May 23 and 24. One resident who lives on Brighton Park Drive reported the unit, valued at $2,000, was missing between 10 p.m. May 23 and 5:30 p.m. May 24. Another unit was reported missing from a house on Muegge Road between 6:30 a.m. May 24 and 8 p.m. May 24. 

Property Damage

  • Several mailboxes were damaged on Kentucky Blue Ridge Court on May 24. 
  • A man reported his vehicle was severely damaged while parked in the commuter parking lot at 1199 Veterans Memorial Parkway. The incident was reported at 2:20 p.m. May 23.
  • An 80-year-old woman reportedly returned home to her house on West Adams Drive around 12:24 p.m. and found the rear sliding door had been shot out with what appeared to be a BB gun.

Stealing

  • A woman reported someone stole about $2,500 in jewelry from the bedroom of a house on Whetstone Drive between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. May 20 during a house party. 
  • A 56-year-old woman reported that her daughter stole several items over several months from her parents who lived on Blair Place Drive including a chainsaw, diamond earrings and a gold bracelet. The incident was reported May 23.

Burglary 

  • A laptop computer, jewelry and luggage was stolen from a house in the 1600 block of Bennett Avenue between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. May 23. Entry to the house was forced. 
  • Someone broke into a home on Ruth Drive through a basement window and stole jewelry between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 24. 
  • A suspect pushed the screen and attempted to push up the window of a home in the 2400 block of Mayer.

  • Police took an intoxicated man into protective custody on Main Street around 1:30 a.m. May 23.
