Police Reports: Scrap Metal Thief Stopped Leaving Business
St. Charles Police Reports April 4-6. The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police stopped a driver of a truck that was filled with scrap metal around 4:15 a.m. April 6. After seeing them drive out of a business on South River Road. The driver admitted he and his passenger stole the metal from a business.
Meth Lab Discovered
- Police found a meth lab in the woods near the parking lot at Fox Hill, Boschert Trail Parking Lot after receiving a tip from a pedestrian April 4.

- A woman reported she saw two people attempting to open car doors while walking down Lee Drive on April 6 around 12:30 a.m.
Driving While Intoxicated
- Police arrested an intoxicated driver who passed out in the drive through of Steak and Shake on First Capitol Drive around 3:20 a.m. April 6. Police arrested the driver for a DWI.

- A 57-year-old man reported the driver side window of his car was smashed while parked on the street in front of a home in the 1000 block of Tompkins Street in St. Charles. It was reported at 8:20 a.m. April 4.
- A business owner reported sugar was put into a vehicle gas tank which was parked on Jefferson Street between March 26 and April 4.
- The exterior church sign at Droste and Norwich was damaged by a single bullet hole between 12:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. April 6.
Stealing
- More than $770 worth of copper material was stolen from a building at south Fifth Street between 4:30 p.m. April 3 and 6:30 a.m. April 4. Copper wiring was taken from the third floor of another building on South Fifth Street.
- Cable boxes valued at more than $2,500 were stolen from the rear bed of a pick up truck in St. Charles parked on Hill Pointe Ct. between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 4.
- Someone drove off without paying for their $30 gas bill at Fast Lane on South Old Highway 94 on April 5 around 11:26 a.m.
- A 19-year-old man reported his laptop was stolen from the locker room at Lindenwood University around 3:46 p.m. April 5.
- Three pistols were reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked on South Fifth Street. The property was valued at $2,427 and was reportedly taken between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. April 5.
- Electric and phone lines were damaged in a house under construction at Shorewinds Trail in an attempt to steal the wire on April 6. The incident happened between 5 p.m. April 5 and 7:30 a.m. April 6.
